LAHORE – As per government announcement, all government and private schools across the country will reopen today after extended winter vacations.
The winter vacations were extended following a brutal Taliban assault at the Army Public School, Peshawar on December 16, 2014 in which 145 people were killed including 134 students.
Army Public School (APS) of Peshawar that was attacked by terrorists will also reopen today. The school has been whitewashed from all sides and all the stains have been removed. The adjacent canal has also been cleaned while many trees along the canal have been removed. The security wall is now 8 feet tall with 3 feet of barbed wire above it.
On the other hand, all the missionary schools in Punjab will reopen on January 19 after completion of security arrangements.
