KARACHI – At least four alleged terrorists were apprehended during a search operation of Rangers in Karachi’s Kunwari Colony today (Saturday).
On a tip off about the presence of criminal element, security personnel long with women officers conducted a raid in Kunwari Colony and took as many as four militants into custody.
Rangers officer cordoned off the entire area and launched a door to door search. The arrested suspects have been shifted to undisclosed place for further investigation.
However, weapons were also confiscated from the possession of the detainees.
The senior official stated that Karachi operation was launched by government which is giving positive outcomes as dozens of extortionists, target killers and terrorists have been held so far. He said that stern action will be continued until the end of last criminal.
Karachi, a metropolis of 20 million that hosts the stock exchange and central bank, is beset by armed violence, and many of its sprawling slums are no-go areas for outsiders.
Two years ago, the military, with help from police, paramilitary Rangers and intelligence agencies, unleashed a campaign against armed gangs and suspected militants in the city.
