RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Rangers have conducted ‘search and sanitization’ operations in Lahore, Rawalpindi among other cities on Thursday and detained ten suspects under Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Major General Asif Ghafoor Bajwa reported that ten suspects were detained in operations in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Cache of ammunition and explosives were seized in the multiple operations.
Meanwhile on the other hand, Frontier Corps and intelligence agencies carried out security operations in Balochistan. A terrorist was gunned down while 12 suspects held in operations in Andoor and Ketch areas.
Ammunition was seized by security personnel in the operations. Media cell of the military reported that an FC sepoy sustained injuries during exchange of fire.
Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad was launched earlier this month across the country to eliminate ‘residue’ of the terrorism left after Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa approved the operation which includes deployment of Pakistan Rangers, a paramilitary force in Punjab to eradicate possibly budding terror elements.
