PTI govt sets strategy to respond to Opp criticism in today’s NA session: sources

ISLAMABAD : The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has agreed upon a strategy to deal with the possible protest that the Opposition may carry out during the National Assembly session today (Wednesday).

Party leaders came to this understanding during an important meeting summoned by Prime Minister Imran Khan, who consulted the attendees over the NA session.

The PTI came to decide that it would have strong responses in light of the realities of the Opposition’s criticism. It is noteworthy that there is a high likelihood that Khan, himself, would also attend today’s NA session, sources noted.

Senior party leaders, ministers, and advisers attended the meeting, which was held in the Prime Minister Office. Among the attendees were Naeemul Haque, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Shafqat Mehmood, Usman Dar, Fawad Chaudhry, Iftikhar Durrani, Faisal Javed Khan, and Farrukh Habib.

A strategy to respond to the Opposition’s statements in the national media was also to be prepared, sources added.

Further among the agenda points of the meeting were the country’s economic and political situation as well as the implementation of the PTI-led government’s 100-day plan.

Sources further said Umar, the minister of finance, briefed the attendees on Pakistan’s ongoing economic situation.
