PM announces operations against terrorists hiding in cities

ISLAMABAD: – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced to conduct operation against the terrorists hiding in cities, “Next Operation Zarb-e-Azb will be conducted against the terrorists hiding in cities. There is no difference between the terrorists and their mentors”, said Nawaz Sharif.

A meeting regarding anti-terror policy was held at the PM office on Monday in Islamabad under the headship of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for States and Frontier Regions General (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch and others.

While chairing the meeting, PM termed terrorism and sectarianism as ‘cancer’ for Pakistan and vowed to salvage Pakistan from this cancer. He said that there is no difference between the mentors of terrorists and the people providing them with shelter. He said that a decisive war has to be fought with the terrorists. “One operation is being conducted in the tribal areas, the other will be conducted against the terrorists hiding in the cities”, he said.

Reacting to the decisive action being taken against the terrorists, Prime Minister directed his legal team and the attorney general office to remove any obstacles that are not allowing the cases against terrorists to proceed. He said that people who have killed the soldiers, women and kids of Pakistan deserved no mercy.

Moreover, he directed the legal team to expedite the pending cases against the terrorists in courts so that the terrorists can be meted out with penalties as soon as possible.

According to PM House spokesperson, directions in this regard have been issued to attorney general office. Directing the Law Ministry to form Legal Reforms Committee, Prime Minister appointed Chaudhry Ashraf as the head of the committee. This committee will help forming new laws and amend the existing ones to support the actions in war against terrorism.
