ISLAMABAD – Former senator and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Syed Zafar Ali Shah has filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan to immediately order the extradition of Raymond Davis, a contractor with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and take stern action against all those who helped to release him.

Raymond Davis, who killed two Pakistani officials on January 27, 2011, former president Asif Ali Zardari, former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, former army chief retired Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, former Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General retired Gen Shuja Pasha, the controller general of military accounts, former ambassador to US Husain Haqqani, former US ambassador Cameron Munter and the federal government have been named as respondents in the petition.

It has been stated in the plea to ask American administration to handover Raymond Davis to Pakistan, and to take action against him according to Pakistani law. Furthermore, the five-page application seeks lifetime disqualification for Shehbaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Yousuf Raza Gillani, Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Shuja Pasha in order to keep them away from any constitutional, political or state responsibilities in the future. The petitioner has requested to prosecute these respondents under Article 6, and to put their names in the Exit Control List (ECL).
