ISLAMABAD The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation led by Farooq Sattar and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman have arrived at the PM House to meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss the issue of resignations.
According to sources, the MQM members will discuss 19 points during the meeting.
On Saturday, the MQM called off talks with the government on the issue of its parliamentarians’ resignation in protest against the cold shoulder treatment meted out to it during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to Karachi.
The MQM termed Nawaz Sharif’s behavior as “arrogant and threatening” and complained that the Prime Minister did not even visit critically injured MNA Rashid Godil.
Afterwards, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Maulana Fazlur Rehman contacted MQM leader Farooq Sattar and urged him to review the decision of calling off dialogues on the issue of resignations of MQM members.
Dar and Fazlur Rehman had assured Sattar that the government will remove genuine complaints of MQM.
On August 12, 24 MNAs, 8 senators and 51 Sindh Assembly members belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) submitted their resignations in protest against alleged victimisation of party workers.
