AHORE (Roze news) – It has been revealed in a meeting chaired by interior minister that the money which comes through gambling in Pakistan Super League (PSL), Indian Premier League (IPL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and other leagues is used in the terrorist activities, reported Roznama Dunya on Thursday.
Interior ministry has decided to take action against all the gambling hubs in public points and other secret places. Law enforcement institutions have decided to get the international bookmakers arrested through Interpol with the help of their facilitators.
Due to these revelations, it is decided that cases will be filed against the local as well as international gamblers under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. Furthermore, links of Indian bookmakers have been found with recent bomb blasts in Lahore, Sehwan Sharif, Charsadda and Rawalpindi. The website of their network was being operated from India’s city Chennai.
According to credible sources, bookies in Pakistan were in contact with foreigner bookmakers even before the start of PSL. These bookies were trying were trying hard to stop the PSL final happening in Lahore.
It has also been disclosed that gambling worth billions of rupees has been done so far in the ongoing PSL in which local as well as international bookies are involved. Betting of four billion, 72 crore and 31 lac rupees is done on PSL up to now, and the numbers are expected to rise in the upcoming matches.
Police have been ordered to take action against all the big culprits as well in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Failsalabad, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan and Bahawalpur without taking any pressure.
Punjab Police have also made a list of bookies on the directions of interior department which includes Sheraz Khan, Sheikh Naeem, Khurram Baloch, Nadeem Jutt, Khawaja Atif, Tariq Japania, Goga Butt, Asif Butt aka Achu Butt, Papu Jutt, Haji Nasir and international bookies.
Moreover, Judge Gujjar, Sheikha Chuna, Mian Viki, Goshi Khan, Malik Toti, Malik Ghazanfar, Malik Babar, Naveed Shakargarhiya, Haji Iqbal Bala, Hafiz Akhtar, Haris, Imran Shehzad, Mansha, Ali Butt, Zubair, sons of Pheeka Pathan Tahir and Tariq are also involved in gambling and action shall be taken against them as well.
