Karachi: Second phase of anti-polio campaign underway, motorcycling banned

Around 5,000 police and rangers personnel have been deployed in 24 union councils of Karachi.

The second phase of anti-polio campaign is underway in sensitive areas of Karachi while motorcycle riding has been banned in 24 union councils of the troubled metropolis.

According to Sindh health department, polio drops will be administered to those children who were missed out last Sunday.

Meanwhile, motorcycle riding has been banned in 24 union councils till 6PM to avoid any untoward incident.

The areas include Gujro UC-4, Sinogul UC-5, Manghopir UC-8 of Guddap Town, Pehalwan Goth UC-10, Metroville UC-11, Gulzar Hijri UC-12, Safora Goth UC-13, Baldia Town’s Naal Abadi UC-4, Mominabad UC-1 of Orangi Town, Baloch Goth UC-13, Haryana Colony UC-2, and several UCs of SITE town, Bin Qasim Town, Landhi Town, Sadar Town and Gulberg Town.
Around 5,000 police and rangers personnel have been deployed in these union councils.
