KARACHI – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday has killed an alleged militant while the police arrested at least seven in different operations.
According to the details, an alleged terrorist, Tor Khan was killed in an encounter with the personnel in Mawach Goth area while one escaped the scene. The security forces have seized explosives from Khan’s possession. CTD Incharge Mazhar Mashwani claimed that Khan belonged to a banned outfit and was involved in several terrorism cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Separately, at least four insurgents belonging to banned organization Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) were allegedly arrested by the police during an operation in Pakistan Bazaar in Orangi Town. At least two of them, Ibrahim and Islam were arrested in injured condition and shifted to a hospital while the other two, Naeem and Rafi were transported to the police station. The police have seized weapons and explosives from their possession.
Moreover, the police in an alleged operation in Baghdadi area of Lyari arrested as many as three gang war criminals. Reportedly, Rehan, Nabeel and Uzair belong to the Rashid group of gang war in the city. The criminals were involved in several cases of extortion and other crimes, according to the police.
Furthermore, in Chakiwara area of Lyari, a person was killed in a firing incident.
