Karachi: Blast at Korangi Crossing claims life of 1, injures 6


KARACHI – A blast in the Korangi Crossing area on Tuesday claimed the life of a person named Habeeb while as many as six people sustained injuries.

According to the first hand investigations, a motor cycle crashed into a rikshaw which lead to an explosion on the spot.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Munir Shiekh, the Rapid Response Force truck was the target of the blast.

The RRF truck was bringing back as many as 15 policemen from the Bilawal House.

Reportedly, a policeman is also included in the total number of injured people that is six.

It has also been reported that window panes of the surrounding buildings were destroyed due to the high intensity of the explosion.

The Korangi Crossing Road has been sealed after the blast.

However, it is yet to be found out that whether the explosive material was placed in the rikshaw or it was thrown out.

Rescue teams, Rangers and officials of law enforcement agencies reached the spot after the explosion and transported the injured people to a hospital by using ambulances where they are currently under treatment.
