Islamabad: Case against 70 PPP workers including Senator Mustafa Nawaz filed

ISLAMABAD : – Islamabad Police have filed case at Secretariat police station against 70 jialas (workers) of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) including Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and Raja Shakil Abbasi after clashes at NADRA Chowk.

The PPP workers have been alleged of stone pelting on police and involvement in national affairs. However, the police are still hesitant in nominating PPP senators.

On the other hand, it has been decided to release party workers detained at Kohsar and Aabpara police stations.

It is pertinent here to mention that the NAB had summoned Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari to hand over a questionnaire comprising 124 questions to interrogate them in the fake bank accounts case on Wednesday (yesterday).

A clash between the Islamabad Police and PPP jialas (workers) took place at NADRA Chowk. PPP secretary general Farhatullah Babar also got involved in a scuffle with the officials.

Four policemen were injured in the conflict. The police baton-charged the party workers and detained at least 50 persons.
