Irked people protest against power outages in major cities

KARACHI  – Enraged people have demonstrated protests and blocked roads in different areas of the metropolitan against the power outages during Ramazan.

According to details, the protesters entered Khairpur Grid Station and demonstrated a violent protest. The locals in Hyderabad and several other areas blocked roads. The people burnt tyres and raised slogans against administration in Malir, Sohrab Gotha and Shadman.

In Multan, protesters came out of the houses due to unbearable heat and demonstrated protest. The locals blocked Vehari Road. The people burnt tyres at the Vehari Chowk and raised slogans against the authorities concerned.

In Faisalabad’s Madanpura area, the protesters burnt tyres and chanted slogans against the government. Almost all the markets in Tando Ala Yar are closed. Meanwhile, in Nowshehra the people protested against the unannounced power cuts. The protesters blocked Nowshehra Road and Mardan-Peshawar Road for all kinds of traffic.

Moreover, in Sukkur people demonstrated a protest and raised slogans against Sepco authorities. Two protesters wore shrouds to condemn the inability of the administration to cope with the prevailing crisis.
The people said that as soon as Ramazan started, the duration of unscheduled of outages has increased. They said that the children are taking ill and there is no potable water either.

The protesters said that electricity outages are being carried out even during Sehri and Iftaar timings. Moreover, water shortage resulted due to unannounced outages have intensified the issue.

However, police and Rangers personnel opened aerial fire to clear blocked roads.

In Hyderabad, people came out on Talak Chari Road, Phaleli, Gujrati Para and Lateefabad Nmber 11 and protested againstadministration.

Separately, in Mirpur Khas, irked electricity customers stormed the local grid station due to long hours of unannounced outages.
