Investigation team’s head DIG Asim meets Rabia’s parents in Karachi

KARACHI : – Six-year-old Rabia who was raped and murdered in Karachi was buried in MPR Colony’s graveyard on Tuesday.

Investigation team’s head DIG Asim Qaimkhani held a meeting with the victim’s parents and also visited the crime scene.

Rabia’ father told him that her daughter had went to the shop but did not come back after which they begin to search for her.

DIG Asim Qaimkhani has said that a report of the incident will be prepared in two to three days.

PTI leaders also met Qaimkhani and provided details about their worker Illyas who died in a clash with police yesterday while protesting against the incident.

Protest turns violent

At least one person was killed and three sustained injuries on Tuesday as police opened fire and resorted to baton-charge protesters agitating against the rape and murder of Rabia.

The protesters gathered at Manghopir road Kati Pahari with an ambulance carrying the body of the victim. They raised slogans against the police department for their failure to nab the culprits.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Omar Shahid alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of intensifying the situation in Karachi and said that police personnel only opened aerial fire.

He said that the protesters also resorted to shooting that injured 14 officers including SHO. However, investigation into the matter has been launched, he assured.
