Incessant rains wreck havoc in Punjab


Lahore: Incessant rain for the second day in row has inundated many areas while killing 51 people in various accidents all over Punjab.Most of the deaths took place owing to electrocution and house demolitions. Roofs of many homes caved in due to uninterrupted rain.

Out of 13 victims in Lahore, 6 were electrocuted in various incidents. The Punjab government has announced Rs 500,000 for the each victim and Rs 100,000 for the injured.

In Faisalabad 4 people died in various rain-related accidents in Saifabad, Maqbool Road and Ghulam  Mohammed Abad. The people lost their lives when roofs of different houses and a factory caved in.Four deaths were reported in Sailkot including two children.In Narowal district one girl was killed while two men sustained injuries. In Kamonke three including  father and a daughter were killed in rain-related incidents. Another youth was electrocuted in Kundian.

In Kasur a youth was electrocuted and two others got injured. Ten people in Okara got injured in various incidents. They have been removed to various hospitals for treatment.Five people were injured Sheikhupura while a woman was crushed under the roof of house.   235463_16638164
