Gold winning national hockey team’s spectacular welcome upon return


LAHORE – National hockey team which earlier bagged a gold medal in the 12th South Asian Games being held in India, was given a spectacular welcome at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International airport upon their return by their supporters, no member of the hockey federation was seen however.

Talking to the media, the national team’s coach stated that the SAF Games was a tough tournament.

The hockey team’s Captain Mohammad Irfan stated that the players of the team had given their 110% effort to the game due to which they were able to beat India on their turf.

Earlier a Pakistani athlete, Maaz Khan, participating in the Wushu event of the SAF Games has also bagged a gold medal and made the nation proud once again.

Pakistan’s national wrestling team has also managed to secure gold, silver and bronze medals.
