Five suicide bombers reportedly enter Lahore, security on red alert


LAHORE  – Home Department on Saturday has issued instructions to tighten security as according to intelligence sources as many as five terrorists have entered Lahore.

Intelligence sources said that as many as five suicide bombers have entered Lahore. The militants are likely to target politicians, assembly members and government installments. Due to suspected unfortunate incidents, security has been put on red alert since Friday night.

Additional contingents of police have been deployed at sensitive installments including railways station and Punjab Assembly.
Race Course Police among intelligence agencies and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) conducted a search operation in premises of the assembly on Friday night.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has cancelled rally in Lahore today on request ofdistrict administration. Khan was scheduled to pay a visit to Data Darbar at around five in the evening before announcing PTI’s next strategy in an address to party workers.

According to PTI sources, Khan will now address workers in party’s office in Garden Town.

Separately, Punjab Assembly members have demanded licenses to keep two Kalashnikovs each for protection after major terror attack warnings were issued by the authorities.

MPA Mazhar Raah in Friday’s session demanded provision of Kalashnikovs licenses. Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that if the assembly passes resolution then federal government can be approached in the matter.
