Concerned over killing of unarmed Kashmiris by Indian army: PM Nawaz

“Use of force against Kashmiris won’t hold them back from demanding right of self-determination”
ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Sunday expressed immense grief over the murder of Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani. PM stated that he had concerns over the killing of unarmed Kashmiris by the Indian army.
PM stated that Indian army’s illegal use of force against the people of Kashmir was saddening. He also said that killing and torturing the citizens who were attending Wani’s funeral prayer was also condemnable.

Prime Minister stated that the use of unrestrained force on unarmed Kashmiris will not hold them back from demanding their right of self-determination, adding that the people of Kashmir had the very right according to the resolutions of United Nations (UN).

PM Nawaz also expressed concerns over the continous house arrest of Kashmiri leaders and demanded that India should work upon the resolutions of the Security Council and must fulfill its responsibilities to ensure human rights in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Syed Khurshid Shah stated that the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri brothers were historic and unprecedented and will not go in vain, further stating that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) stands with the people of Kashmir who were facing Indian atrocities.
