Charsadda tragedy: Foreign Office summons Afghan envoy, demands action against culprits

ISLAMABAD – The Foreign Office (FO) summons Afghan envoy on Tuesday and has asked for action against those responsible of Charsadda attack using Afghan territory, reported Dunya News.

According to the details, Pakistan has formerly protested with Afghanistan on Afghan territory being used in terrorist attack at Bacha Khan University. The FO called the Afghan envoy and demanded action against the culprits.

The FO spokesman said that Pakistan has shown concern on Afghanistan’s territory being used in Bacha Khan University attack and has formerly recorded its protest. The Afghan envoy was told that during the attack on Bacha Khan University, Afghan SIMs were used. The handlers of the terrorists used the Afghan territory and telecommunication service for the attack.

The FO told that it has already shared the information regarding Charsadda attack with Afghanistan. Afghanistan should cooperate to capture the culprits.

On January 20th, twenty-three people were martyred in an attack on Bacha Khan University in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province which was claimed by a faction of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), barely a year after a massacre at a school in Peshawar that killed more than 150 people.

On January 23rd (Saturday), Army spokesperson DG ISPR Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa said the four gunmen who attacked a university were trained in Afghanistan and the assault was controlled by a TTP militant from a location inside Afghanistan.
