Blast in Peshawar leaves two police officials dead, seven injured


PESHAWAR  – Deputy Commandant of Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) Tariq Malik along with seven policeofficers sustained injuries while his two gunmen embraced martyrdom in a blast in Peshawar today (Thursday),

According to details, the explosion took place in the area of Hayatabad targeting the car of Deputy Commandant FRP. Sources reported that the FRP official was immediately taken to the Hayatabad Medical Complex in a critical condition for medicinal assistance.

Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and police have cordoned off the entire area and launched an investigation into the matter.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mian Saeed confirmed that the attack was a suicide blast and revealed that the suicide bomber was on a motorcycle.

SSP Investigation has stated that senior officer of FRP is out of danger now and added that police officers have collected the evidence and body parts of the attacker.
