JAMSHORO – Two freight trains on Saturday collided near Bhulari Railways Station, area in Jamshoro, while three people, including a driver and fireman, sustained injuries in the incident. 10 boogies were also overturned.

As per details available, one train was carrying goods from Karachi to Lahore while other was heading towards Thermal Power House Karachi with oil. Movement of the trains was suspended owing to ongoing repair work on the track.
DS Karachi Nisar Ahmed Memon also visited the site and termed driver of oil-carrying-train responsible for the hapless incident.

Train accidents are common in Pakistan, which inherited thousands of miles of track and trains from former colonial power, Britain. The railways have seen decades of decline due to corruption, mismanagement and lack of investment.
