WASHINGTON – US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will embark on Asia tour today (Friday). According to US State Department, Tillerson will travel to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan and India and then leave for Geneva during October 20-27 visit.

US State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said that Rex Tillerson will reach Pakistan after visiting Saudi Arabia and Qatar. In Islamabad Tillerson will meet with senior Pakistani leaders to discuss continued strong bilateral cooperation.

State Department spokesperson further said that Pakistan’s critical role in the success of US South Asia strategy and expanding economic ties between the two countries will also come under discussion during the meetings.

Heather Nauert said that Secretary will build on the positive conversations he and the Vice President have had with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s recent visit to the Unites States.
