PPP’s Sharjeel Memon released from NAB custody after interrogation

ISLAMABAD (Roze News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former minister Sharjeel Memon was released on Sunday from the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) after interrogation.

Memon was arrested on Saturday night immediately after his plane coming from Dubai landed at the Islamabad airport.

He was accompanied by four Sindh ministers Mukesh Chawla, Imdad Pitafi, Fiaz Bhatt and Taimoor Talpoor.

However; he was released later after his bail documents were checked by the authorities.

Sharjeel Memon escaped to Dubai in 2015 when action was initiated during Karachi operation against political personalities involved in corruption.

NAB presented a report against him in Sindh High Court (SHC) after which Memon filed for a bail in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on March 15 and assured that he will appear before court on March 20.

After release from custody, Sharjeel Memon reached Sindh House and contacted Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah.

The PPP leader has said that he will hold a media talk today after consultation with his lawyers.
