PM Imran to chair federal cabinet meeting today

ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a meeting of the federal cabinet today to discuss a 21-point agenda including the law and order situation in the country.

The cabinet will give the go-ahead for appointment of chairman of trading corporation, and approve charter license of Liberty Air Ltd for domestic flights.

It will also approve a deal relating to exchange of prisoners between Pakistan, Britain and Northern Ireland, and give the green signal to a two-way agreement between the Foreign Ministry and Nigeria.

An agreement between the State Bank of Pakistan and National Bank of Pakistan is also expected to be approved during the meeting.

The cabinet members are also slated to appoint the chief executive of Public Private Partnership Authority.

The meeting will also approve the publishing of tax details of members of the parliament from 2017.

According to reports, PM Imran will also take the cabinet members into confidence regarding agreements reached with China during his recent visit.

The prime minister returned to Pakistan after his first official visit to China earlier this week, in which both the countries signed 15 cooperation agreements and memorandum of understandings spanning diverse fields.

The country’s overall law and order situation will also be discussed during the meeting.
