Mehwish Hayat joins Hollywood’s anti-harassment ‘Times up’ movement

LAHORE – Pakistani model and actress Mehwish Hayat joined infamous anti-harassment #timesup movement which has ruled the Hollywood red carpet at recently held 75th Golden Globes.

The actress took to social media and posted a photo wearing black dress to express solidarity with other female actors in the US.

Mehwish wrote, “Today, I wear black in solidarity with my industry colleagues in US and push this message to the women of my own homeland, Pakistan. We are no less than men by virtue of our gender. Harassment of any form is totally unacceptable and we will not tolerate it #WhyIWearBlack #timeisup.”

The website of the campaign stated, “It addresses the systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace that have kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential.”

It is to be mentioned here that the campaign has achieved $15 million target so far whereas it is all set to hit $16 million dollars in the next few days.
