The inquiry report compiled by Justice Baqar Najafi was made public by the Government of Punjab on Tuesday when the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejectedthe provincial government’s review petitions, ordering to release it within 30 days.
The probe was launched following killing of at least 14 persons and scores were left wounded on June 17, 2014 in a clash between police and workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers in Model Town area of Lahore.

PUNJAB GOVT’S RESPONSE
The provincial government on Tuesday decided against challenging the verdict in the Supreme Court. The decision was made by the political leadership during a high-level meeting attended by the PML-N leadership.
Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah has said that Model Town tragedy report bears shortcomings however, the government would not approach the apex court.
Sanaullah reaffirmed his claim that the report doesn’t hold Shehbaz Sharif or any other person responsible for the Model Town massacre.
